Angel Fire, NM

Jeff and I just finished a 10 day stint with the kids in Albuquerque with their Nema and Grandpa. They had a great time...(but ours was better!) This past weekend was the hand off back to us and we decided to meet in Angel fire. It is such a beautiful place to spend time in...gorgeous and peaceful.

Wicked!!

This year for the kid's birthdays we decided to give them an experience as a gift. They both have enough "stuff" (we all do) and thought that a special event would be more memorable. This week was Ryan's experience...We went out for dinner to the place Jeff took me on our first date (15 years ago!) and then downtown to see Wicked. It was so fun and the kids loved it as much as I did!

Awards

The kid's end of year awards ceremony was par for the course...

They were both in choir,

They were both in student council

Ryan got a citizen award and Cole was awarded for academic excellence (which is just perfect.)

Nothing unexpected until...

Cole got a perfect attendance award. Jeff and I just about fell out of our chairs giggling. Fist, we had no idea and second...the kids  that give the teachers the hardest time NEVER miss a day.

Great job kids and sorry Mrs. Smutz!

lightning strikers

Cole's soccer team of many years now placed 4th in a tournament this weekend to end his time on this team. What a great weekend full of rain, hail, mud...lots of mud and even more smiles.

Ryan had her first of many dances this weekend...her 6th grade dance. When shopping for her ans amble with her Nema, Auntie and me, we were told that she did not want "fancy" shoes because she wanted to dance! And that she did. Love this sweet girl of ours.

Girls On the Run

A very rainy, yet fantastic 5K run. Ryan and I were both buddy runners for a few of my third graders who completed their first 5K run today.  Love running with and running into so many girls I love!!

This little girl of ours swam almost 2 miles in an hour...raised money for her swim team and loved every minute of it. Thank you to all who donated.
