pumpkin patches and corn mazes

Last weekend Jeff's mom and sister came to Denver for a visit. Anita, Michelle and Jeff took the kids to a pumpkin patch. Jeff said the kids had so much fun picking out their pumpkins. It was a great visit with Nema and Auntie Shell...thank you!

And keeping with the fall theme - Jen, Emily and I took our kids to a huge corn maze yesterday. Our kids loved it and had a great time playing hide and seek and picking corn.

cold mornings = warm heads

Knit for Paris came to fruition today. I let my 3rd grade students pick out a hat that they would love and wear. I only had one request...that if they picked one they would wear it. All 26 students now have a beautiful new hat for the cold months ahead and huge smiles on their faces. There are a few hats left over that I will give to siblings tomorrow.I am going to continue to knit and hope to be able to do this again with my next class.

Words cannot describe my gratitude
Thank you to,
Evelyn

walks, leaves and tomatoes

Fall is finally upon us and we are welcoming the change.

Sweatshirts and slippers.
Cool enough to walk around red rocks for the afternoon.
The anticipation of raking huge piles of leaves.
And nearing the end of our tomato run.

Hello fall...we've been waiting.

no mas

We have no more "unwanted wall paper."
No more pink and white stripes, no more little blue flowers and no more boarders matching it all.

I worked diligently over the summer and my wonderful Jeff just finished the very high parts.

We also finished the office with this idea we have wanted to do for a long time...we put cork on an entire wall. It's very fun and perfect now that we have lots of art work and stories being brought home from kindergarten.
Finally finished!

"We jumped right into Sunday...

and had ourselves a fun day!" -lyrics from "I'm gonna catch you" by Laurie Berkner (Highly recommended kids music...I find myself singing her often.)
After a full month of Cole picking out train and dinosaur books weekly from the library Jeff and I thought it was only fitting to take the kids on a train ride. We took the Georgetown Loop this morning and had such a great time. The kids reactions and expressions were priceless.
On the way down the mountain we stopped at Red Rocks Amphitheater - arguably the best place to see a concert - for a little walking around.

The kids were rock stars...such a fun day!
